Our TV Speaks English

We finally got our landlord to understand that we wanted more English language TV channels. Previously we had exactly one: CNN...and the reception wasn't even that great.

So the satellite people came and did whatever they needed to do. So now we have 245 English language channels. However, remember that this is free satellite so about 230 of them are mostly crap...Home shopping, etc. At least we have some news channels and some movie channels that we can understand (I'll let you know if they ever show a movie that's any good).

All that doesn't matter though since we have a channel called Tiny Pop that shows cartoons all day long. Pretty good cartoons, in fact: Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, Berenstain Bears, Paddington Bear, Timothy Goes to School & Rainbow Fish.

Katie was so excited.
Katie: "Daddy, the TV speaks English now!"

All the shows are somewhat educational and pretty non-objectionable (can't say that about everything on Nickelodeon...Sponge Bob). Plus Katie LOVES the Berenstain Bears. She has lots of their books and almost always gets at least one Berenstain Bear book from the school library each week. We even made an Excel spreadsheet to track which ones she has and which ones she has borrowed from the library (got to start the Excel training while they're young).
